Our Facility
- Fully equipped surgical suite with two recovery stalls 
- Two examination rooms 
- Stallion collection area, mare stocks, and repro lab 
- 15 standard stalls, 5 ICU stalls, and an isolation unit 
- 15 turnout paddocks of various sizes 
We are staffed 24/7 by experienced veterinary technicians to ensure exceptional care for all hospitalized patients.

Caseload & Responsibilities
Our diverse caseload includes pleasure horses and both English and Western performance horses. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing elective and emergency surgeries 
- Managing lameness cases and evaluations 
- Overseeing in-patient and out-patient medical care 
- Participating in limited ambulatory work 
- Sharing on-call duties with the team

Equine Veterinary Surgery/Anesthesia/Outpatient Technician
Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery’s Weatherford Division, PLLC (“ESMS”) has an immediate opportunity at our busy referral hospital in Weatherford, Texas for a full-time Veterinary Surgery/Anesthesia and Outpatient Technician.
The anticipated work schedule will be five (5) 8-hour weekdays -OR- four (4) 10-hour weekdays, with rotating on-call duty.
Established in 2002 ESMS is a large multiple-veterinarian equine practice offering services including ICU & critical care, hospitalization, 24-hour emergencies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, surgery, lameness, reproduction, ambulatory, dentistry, and wellness.
We have an excellent team, including CVTs, LVTs, RVTs and a large, well-trained support staff.
Responsibilities include:
- • Provide effective communication and technical support to veterinarians, surgeons, and other staff members in the delivery of primary care, diagnostic services, and disease control. Essential care duties include, but are not limited to, administering treatments, preparing medications, and taking physicals. 
- • Observe patients’ comfort and needs, alerting doctors of any problems. 
- • Assist with surgical procedures o Prepare the operating room, placement of patient, and preparation of the surgical site 
- o Provide support in anesthesia for routine and complex cases by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems 
- o Maintain complete and accurate anesthesia medical records 
- • Restrain patients. 
- • Assist with after hour emergencies. 
- • Assist in the Hospital barn, ICU, Outpatient and Ambulatory areas. 
- • Assist in routine lameness exams and sterile joint preparations. 
- • Jog with horse in hand. 
- • Assist in other areas of the hospital as directed. 
- • May require working alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, or “on-call-duty” to ensure hospital operations are sufficient. 
Qualifications:
- • Minimum of 2 years’ Equine veterinary practice experience, required. 
- • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT or RVT) preferred. 
- • One-year Equine Anesthesia experience, preferred. 
- • Extensive knowledge of all anesthesia supplies, equipment, and monitoring, preferred. 
- • Excellent veterinary nursing skills. 
- • Ability to place intravenous/arterial catheters and to perform endotracheal intubation for veterinary patients. 
- • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions. 
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
- • Ability to work independently. 
- • Ability to safely move and handle up to 75 lbs. 
- • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment 
- • Team-oriented, self-motivated and positive individual with strong work ethics. 
- • Excellent horse-handling, communication, customer service, and organizational skills. 
- • Ability to efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

North Texas Veterinary Hospital
Seeking an associate veterinarian for a true mixed-animal practice located just north of Weatherford, TX. Experience preferred but new graduates encouraged to apply. Candidates should be self-motivated and willing to participate in all aspects of the practice. Requires DVM and current or eligible for licensure in state of Texas. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, PLIT, CE allowance, paid association dues, and retirement option. The facility is approximately 12,000 sq feet situated on 11 acres. The companion
animal hospital has 6 exam rooms, 2 common treatment areas, 2 surgery suites, isolation ward, in-house laboratory, and pharmacy. The separate, but connected, large animal/equine facility consists of 2 equine exam rooms with stocks, 5 stalls with attached runs, surgery/recovery suite,
and a hydraulic squeeze/tilt chute with 6 holding pens. There are 2 small living quarters associated with the practice. The hospital has digital radiography and ultrasound, HESKA laboratory equipment, cold laser, portable endoscopy/gastroscopy, small animal dental equipment including digital radiology, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, and capabilities to perform regenerative therapies including Pro-Stride, PRP, and stem cell. We also offer acupuncture services. NTVH furnishes a fully stocked ambulatory pickup for emergency and farm calls for the associates. On-call is limited and shared on a rotating basis. Send CV
